Vintage Country Wedding Cake

I absolutely *loved* making this cake.

I think perhaps the fact that the client is also a friend & now a family member, that could have had something to do with it.

She gave me a picture of what she wanted, and I changed the colours to match her Country Themed wedding, set on her family farm in Hogsback, Eastern Cape.  The cake was Red Velvet on top, Choc in the middle and Carrot at the bottom.  YUM.

I also then made items of yumminess for the dessert table – Chocolate Brownies, Sugar Cookies, Cake Pops, Cupcakes and Caramel Tarts.  Other yummies included Heart Shaped Fudge, Lammingtons and Rocky Road.  A true feast.  I had an absolute ball putting together and decorating the Dessert Table – such fun!

An absolutely gorgeous wedding!

Pink Ribbon Cupcakes

As we are all aware, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I am sure that each of us has been touched in one way or another by Breast Cancer and am sure we will all agree that it is not something that we would like to happen to us or our loved ones.

In honour of this I have put together a selection of Pink/Pink Ribbon Cupcakes, of which I will donate 10% of all the sales to the Avon Foundation for Women.

I really believe that this is something that us, as women, need to be more aware of. And not only are you supporting a worthy cause, you get to feast on delicious cupcakes too!

Wedding Cupcakes

Here are some cupcakes I did for a wedding recently. The bride did not want to go overboard in the decor or the flavour of the cupcakes. She wanted 90 vanilla and 90 chocolate cupcakes, frosted with a Fluffy Meringue Frosting and sprinkled with assorted sized silver balls.

I did wonder about the simplicity of these cakes, especially as a wedding cupcake, but they were stunning. They tasted delicious – moist and tasty, but the Meringue Frosting really did make the cake. Glossy and luxurious looking.
